Grinder pumps are submersible electric centrifugal and progressing cavity pumps used to move sewage.  Grinders do what the name implies, they grind, cut and mascerate sewage waste into a slurry-stream then move it, often under higher presssure. Grinder pumps are used in pressure sewer, commercial buildings and residential applications where the waste stream is required to be moved to a higher elevation.
